Roger Dubuis Unveils “The Enchanter Merlin” in Its Excalibur Knights of the Round Table Series

Roger Dubuis expands its legendary Excalibur Knights of the Round Table collection with The Enchanter Merlin, the second chapter in its “Tale of Merlin” series following 2024’s Omniscient Merlin. This new watch moves from a dark basalt-inspired look to a bright white-and-gold design, inspired by Merlin’s invisible Crystal Palace from Arthurian legend. The dial transforms into a miniature sculptural world, where columns and crystals create a shimmering, multidimensional scene.

The dial starts with an 18k pink-gold base plate featuring hexagonal cutouts. These hold 56 columns made from materials like Murano-style glass, white enamel, pink gold, and rhodium-plated gold. Each column is topped with tiny hexagonal diamonds, giving a sparkling, 3D effect. Beneath them, ruthenium crystals mimic sunlight reflecting on a calm lake.

Around this dazzling scene are the twelve Knights of the Round Table, each standing six millimeters tall. Made from 18k pink gold, these figures are first hand-sculpted, then 3D-scanned, molded, cast, and engraved for fine detail. They serve as hour markers while symbolizing protection and chivalry.

The watch is housed in a 45mm 18k pink-gold Excalibur case and powered by the in-house Monobalancier RD821 automatic movement, featuring 172 components with 14 types of hand finishes, earning the prestigious Poinçon de Genève certification. A sword-guard crown protector, sapphire window, and 360-degree pink-gold micro-rotor highlight medieval-inspired design. It comes with a quick-release white leather strap to complete the look.
