The Armoury has teamed up with independent watchmaker Ressence to create a refined new timepiece — the TYPE 9 ARM “Scattered Sun.” Designed with classic menswear elegance in mind, the watch blends Ressence’s innovative style with The Armoury’s tailoring-inspired touch.
The watch comes in a 39mm polished Grade 5 titanium case that weighs just 39 grams, making it both lightweight and comfortable. Its salmon-colored dial, finished with a sandblasted texture, adds warmth and sophistication. Around the dial sits a custom fluted bezel that doubles as a functional minute track, while Ressence’s signature Orbital Convex System brings a unique way of telling time. Completing the look is a chocolate suede strap with exposed stitching — a nod to The Armoury’s menswear heritage.
According to Ressence founder Benoît Mintiens, The Armoury encouraged the brand to explore proportions and details outside their usual design approach, focusing on smaller sizes and more traditional watchmaking colors. Mark Cho, co-founder of The Armoury, added that the idea was to design a watch “that could live with a suit,” with warmth, texture, and understated elegance.
The TYPE 9 ARM “Scattered Sun” is limited to just 20 pieces worldwide. It is priced at $19,000 USD / $148,200 HKD and will be sold exclusively through The Armoury’s website and boutiques in Hong Kong and New York.
