Luxury watchmaker Jaeger-LeCoultre is marking the upcoming Year of the Horse with two very special editions of its Reverso Tribute Enamel collection. Each watch is limited to just 10 pieces worldwide, making them rare collector’s items.
The Reverso watch, first designed in 1931 for polo players, is known for its unique swiveling case. These new models continue that tradition while adding artistic details that highlight Jaeger-LeCoultre’s mastery in enamel painting, engraving, and guilloché work.
The Reverso Tribute Enamel “Xu Beihong” honors the famous Chinese artist, often called the father of modern Chinese painting. Each of the three white-gold models carries a tiny hand-painted enamel reproduction of his iconic horse paintings on the back. Every painting takes about 80 hours of work, showing horses in different poses—running, standing, or moving in pairs. The front dials are decorated with traditional guilloché patterns in rich colors like green, blue, and orange.
Inside, the watch runs on the Calibre 822 manual movement, offering hours, minutes, and a 42-hour power reserve in a slim case.
The second piece, the Reverso Tribute Enamel “Horse”, comes in pink gold. Its caseback features a hand-engraved horse in high relief, appearing to leap from sand-blasted clouds against a backdrop of deep black enamel. The design celebrates the horse as a symbol of power, freedom, and perseverance in Chinese culture. On the front, the dial matches the theme with black enamel, Art Deco-style markers, and elegant Dauphine hands.
Both editions perfectly combine Jaeger-LeCoultre’s technical skills with artistic craftsmanship, making them a tribute not only to watchmaking but also to cultural heritage.
