EA skate. Returns With “Drop In” Film Celebrating the Skate Community

After 15 years, EA’s skate. is finally making its return, and the relaunch is all about the people who kept the game alive—the skateboarding community. The new campaign, called “Drop In”, has been created by Uncommon Creative Studio as a tribute to skaters who have supported the franchise for years.

The highlight of the campaign is a surreal film shot in Mexico City, featuring some of the biggest names in skateboarding, like Ishod Wair, Atiba Jefferson, Yurin Fuji, Jerry Hsu, David Gravette, Kiki Kakitani, Sean Malto, Breana Geering, and many more. The film mixes the raw energy of real skateboarding videos with the wild, playful physics of the game itself, showing that in skate., “anyone can skate anything.”

To keep it authentic, the production team even brought in 100 local skaters from Mexico City and hired a skater as the cinematographer. This makes the film feel like it was built by and for the skateboarding community.

What makes this relaunch even more exciting is that the game will be free to download. This means long-time fans and new players alike can jump in without barriers. According to Jeff Seamster, Head of Creative for skate., the goal has always been to create the game together with the community and push the boundaries of what’s possible.

More than just a game, skate. is shaping up to be a platform where creativity, connection, and fun come together.
