Ram TRX is Making a Big Comeback with V-8 Power

The Ram TRX, one of the most powerful off-road trucks, is officially coming back. Stellantis CEO Antonio Filosa confirmed the news during the company’s Q2 financial call. He said the supercharged V-8 truck has always been a big success for sales and profits.

While exact production dates are not fixed yet, reports suggest that the new TRX could start production as early as January 2026.

The previous TRX had a 6.2L Hellcat V-8 engine producing 702 horsepower, setting a benchmark for off-road performance trucks. Now, with Ram CEO Tim Kuniskis also heading the SRT performance division, people are expecting the next TRX to be even more powerful.

Although the final design and engine details are still secret, the upcoming TRX is expected to stick to its roots: a supercharged V-8 engine, bold looks, and extreme off-road capabilities.

This comeback also shows Ram’s new plan for the future. The company has confirmed that the HEMI V-8 will return to the Ram 1500 lineup in 2026 and hinted at 25 new product launches in the next 18 months.

With more relaxed fuel economy rules in the U.S. right now, Ram is focusing on high-performance V-8 engines again — and the TRX is leading the way.
