Footwear designer Salehe Bembury is back with another exciting collaboration — this time reworking the New Balance 1000 into a colorful and creative new sneaker called “Fog Be The Cloud.” After teasing the pair earlier this year, we now have a closer look at the unique design and color choices.
Originally released in 1999, the New Balance 1000 recently returned to celebrate its 25th anniversary. Now, with Salehe’s touch, the shoe gets a major update featuring mixed materials like suede, mesh, and synthetics, giving it a fresh feel while keeping its retro roots.
The sneaker is bursting with colors — blue, forest green, neon yellow, orange, brown, purple, magenta, red, and off-white all make an appearance. The lavender inner lining and lime green insole add even more personality. The sneaker’s name, “Fog Be The Cloud,” is stitched on a tag on the side with Salehe Bembury’s branding, giving it that signature flair.
Even though the release date hasn’t been confirmed yet, the sneaker is expected to drop in Fall 2025 and will likely be available through New Balance and Salehe’s Be A Spunge website. While pricing hasn't been announced, it may be slightly higher than the usual $150 due to the premium design.
