A. Lange & Söhne has introduced a new version of its famous Zeitwerk Date, now available in a warm pink gold case with a refined gray dial — a first for the collection. The Zeitwerk, first launched in 2009, is known for its jumping numerals mechanism that changes the hour and minute displays instantly and precisely.
This updated model keeps the unique ring-shaped date display that was added in 2019. The printed glass ring features a red marker that moves at midnight to show the current date. The watch also retains the signature time bridge in German silver, framing the hour and minute windows across the dial. At midnight, the watch performs a synchronized movement where all the numeral discs and the date ring jump together, showcasing the complex mechanics inside.
The 44.2 mm case houses the manually wound L043.8 movement, made up of 516 parts and offering a 72-hour power reserve. The constant-force escapement ensures consistent power to the jumping numerals. Both the hour and date can be adjusted independently using the pushers at 4 and 8 o’clock. The sapphire crystal caseback reveals the movement’s hand-finished details, including the solarized ratchet wheels.
