Jordan Brand is once again drawing from Chinese mythology with the release of the Air Jordan 1 Low OG “Xuan Wu”, set to arrive in Fall 2025. This release follows the earlier high-top version introduced in January and celebrates the upcoming Year of the Horse in 2026 with a design rooted in heritage and luxury.
The sneaker is named after Xuan Wu, a legendary guardian of the North in Chinese mythology, often depicted as a snake-tortoise hybrid symbolizing endurance, protection, and transformation.
The low-top version comes dressed in a black leather upper with intricate carved-like patterns on the heel, echoing snakeskin and tortoise shell textures. A translucent outsole reveals tortoiseshell-inspired details beneath, tying back to the mythical theme. Adding to its premium feel, the shoe features leather-wrapped laces, a leather tongue, and low-profile ankle padding, elevating it beyond standard sportswear into luxury territory.
