Nothing Ear (3) Unveiled: A Sound Upgrade in a Sleek New Case

Nothing has launched its third-generation wireless earbuds, the Ear (3), bringing a mix of design refinement and powerful sound upgrades. Known for its transparent tech style, the new model now comes with a recycled aluminum charging case, giving it a premium and eco-friendly touch compared to the plastic case of the Ear (2).

The Ear (3) keeps its minimalist look but adds subtle metal accents for a more polished finish. A new “Talk” button on the case activates Nothing’s Super Mic system, which blocks ambient noise up to 95 dB, ensuring crisp and clear voice quality during calls.

On the inside, the earbuds pack three directional microphones plus a bone-conduction Voice Pickup Unit (VPU) that captures vibrations from your jaw and ear canal. This makes your voice clearer, even in noisy environments. Noise cancellation has also improved, with Smart Adaptive ANC cutting up to 45 dB of external noise – higher than the previous Ear (2). A transparency mode is also available when you need awareness of your surroundings.

Battery life is impressive: 10 hours of playback without ANC and up to 38 hours with the case. A 10-minute quick charge gives 10 hours of use, and the case supports Qi wireless charging. Other handy features include pinch controls, in-ear detection, gaming low-lag mode, IP54 dust/water resistance, and ChatGPT integration through the Essential Space app.

The Nothing Ear (3) comes in Black and White color options, priced at $179 USD. Pre-orders are live now, with official sales starting September 25, 2025.
