Salomon Teams Up with Uchi Ryunosuke for Exclusive RX SLIDE 3.0

Salomon Sportstyle Japan has partnered with Kyoto-based artist and designer Uchida “Uchi” Ryunosuke for a very special version of the RX SLIDE 3.0. This limited-edition design was revealed during a community event at Ace Hotel Kyoto and features pine needle-inspired graphics with a simple, nature-themed look — a reflection of Uchi’s signature style.

Only 100 pairs were made, and none were sold in stores. Instead, each pair was gifted as a surprise to lucky attendees, instantly making the shoes a rare collector’s item.

The launch took place alongside the Ace Hotel’s “SLOW SERIES” workshop, where more than 180 participants joined Uchi in learning how to dye fabrics with natural pine needle dyes. Guests made tenugui (traditional Japanese cloths) and socks, but the highlight was getting a first look — and for some, a pair — of the exclusive sneakers.

The celebration continued into the evening with a reception at Stumptown Coffee Roasters, where guests enjoyed themed food and drinks. While this collaboration won’t hit shelves, it marks an exciting start to what could be more creative projects from Uchi in the future.
