CIGA Design has teamed up with Swiss watch studio Label Noir to launch the Blue Planet II Black Star Edition, a timepiece inspired by the mysteries of deep space.
Unlike earlier models that focused on Earth themes, this watch takes a bold leap into the cosmos. At its center is an 8.5mm concave “black hole”, coated with Super Black pigment that absorbs 99.6% of light, making it look like a true void. Surrounding it are spiral galaxy patterns printed in vibrant colors, with a glowing polar-star hand moving above to show the time.
The 46mm case is made from Grade 2 titanium with a black DLC coating, paired with a black fluororubber strap for comfort and durability. A sapphire crystal glass keeps the face scratch-free and clear, while water resistance is rated at 3 ATM.
Inside, the watch runs on the Swiss-made CD-04-S automatic movement with CIGA Design’s special Asynchronous-Follow Technology, allowing the hour and minute rings to rotate smoothly for a unique single-hand display. It beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour and offers 41 hours of power reserve.
Priced at $1,980 USD, the Black Star Edition is available now through CIGA Design’s official webstore.
