Bad Bunny is once again teaming up with adidas Originals—this time to honor his home, Puerto Rico. Their latest collaboration, called the “Gazelle City Series,” is a special sneaker collection inspired by three beautiful and meaningful locations on the island.
The release comes right as Bad Bunny begins his “No Me Quiero Ir de Aquí” concert residency, a series of 30 shows from July 11 to September 14 in Puerto Rico. The timing makes this sneaker drop even more special.
There are three different colorways, each one inspired by a different place in Puerto Rico:
-
El Yunque: This shoe comes in deep green tones and is inspired by Puerto Rico’s famous rainforest. It’s a tribute to nature and the island’s strong connection to its land.
-
Santurce: Bright orange represents this colorful neighborhood, known for music, dance, and street art. It’s the creative center of Puerto Rican culture.
-
Cabo Rojo: This version is vibrant pink, just like the pink salt flats found in Cabo Rojo. It also honors the resilience of the island, especially after Hurricane Maria.
Each sneaker not only looks unique but also tells a story about the people and places of Puerto Rico. The campaign even features Puerto Rican elders, adding emotional value and celebrating local wisdom and tradition.
