Apple Introduces M5-Powered iPad, MacBook, and Vision Pro — A Giant Leap in Performance and AI

Apple has just announced its latest generation of devices powered by the all-new M5 chip, marking one of the biggest jumps in performance and efficiency since the original M1. The new iPad Pro, MacBook Pro, and Apple Vision Pro are all set to redefine how Apple blends AI, graphics, and power efficiency in its ecosystem.

At the heart of this launch is the new iPad Pro, featuring Apple’s brightest and sharpest Ultra Retina XDR display. Available in 11-inch and 13-inch versions, this iPad is powered by the M5 chip, which offers up to 3.5x faster AI performance than its predecessor and 5.6x faster than the first-generation M1. The M5’s 10-core GPU, combined with a 16-core Neural Engine and improved memory bandwidth, allows it to handle professional tasks like 3D rendering and AI-assisted creative work with ease. It also features Wi-Fi 7 via Apple’s new N1 wireless chip and faster cellular connectivity through the C1X modem. Pricing starts at $999 USD, with configurations from 256GB/12GB RAM up to 2TB/16GB RAM.

On the Mac side, Apple unveiled a new 14-inch MacBook Pro powered by the same M5 chip. It boasts faster SSD performance, enhanced graphics, and AI-optimized computing for heavy workflows. The laptop promises an impressive 24-hour battery life, setting a new benchmark for portable performance. It starts at $1,599 USD, with storage options up to 4TB.

The third major highlight is the M5-powered Vision Pro, which makes a massive leap from the M2 found in last year’s model. Apple says this is a multi-generational upgrade, delivering smoother mixed reality experiences and faster app performance. The headset comes with a new Dual Knit Band for better comfort and introduces visionOS 26, featuring improved digital Personas, enhanced spatial apps, and new immersive environments. The Vision Pro will be available in 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB versions, starting at $3,499 USD.

Apple’s move to integrate the M5 chip across its devices shows a clear focus on AI-driven performance, energy efficiency, and immersive experiences. This marks Apple’s most significant leap in processing power since the debut of Apple Silicon, setting the stage for a new era of intelligent, high-performance devices.

Pre-orders are open now on Apple’s official website, with worldwide availability starting October 22.
