Rachel Scott, the Jamaican-American designer known for her label Diotima, has been appointed as the new creative director of Proenza Schouler. She takes over the role after the brand’s founders, Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, left for Loewe earlier this year in March.
Scott’s official debut for the house will be in February 2026, but she has already contributed to Proenza Schouler’s upcoming Spring 2026 collection while working as a consultant in the design studio.
In a statement, Scott shared her excitement, saying she deeply respects the work of McCollough and Hernandez and looks forward to adding her own perspective while honoring their legacy. She expressed gratitude to CEO Shira Suveyke Snyder for trusting her with this role.
Snyder praised Scott as one of today’s most celebrated design talents, highlighting her fresh perspective, ability to blend craft with innovation, and strong understanding of the Proenza Schouler identity.
With Scott’s appointment, the brand is preparing to enter a new era while staying true to its roots in modern American fashion.
