RUF has introduced the Tribute at Monterey Car Week, a supercar designed to honor the Porsche 911 while pushing performance into the modern era. What makes this car special is its brand-new air-cooled engine, a technology rarely seen today but deeply connected to Porsche’s heritage.
At the heart of the Tribute is a 3.6-liter twin-turbo flat-six engine, developed completely in-house by RUF. It produces 550 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque, paired with a seven-speed manual gearbox for a pure driving feel. Advanced features like four-cam technology, variable cam timing, variable valve lift, and three-valve cylinder heads bring modern efficiency while keeping the raw character of classic air-cooled motors.
The Tribute uses a lightweight carbon-fiber chassis, giving it agility and strength. It revs up to 6,750 rpm, delivering not just speed but also the signature sound that connects drivers to the legendary Porsche experience.
RUF describes the Tribute as a bridge between past and present: “The rush of the air-cooled engine behind you adds something special to the modern RUF pantheon. It takes the best of the motoring past and injects the technology of the present to create a supercar unlike any other.”
Alongside the Tribute, RUF also showcased the 800 hp CTR3 EVO and the first customer-built RUF Rodeo, proving that cars built with analog soul still have a strong place in today’s high-tech automotive world.
