Luxury Swiss watchmaker Roger Dubuis has once again teamed up with world-famous tattoo artist Dr. Woo to release the third watch in their special series. Called the Excalibur Monotourbillon Dr. Woo Episode III, this timepiece mixes high-end watchmaking with outer space themes and creative tattoo-style design.
The watch tells a unique story. It’s inspired by a “galactic peace mission,” and its centerpiece is the “Tourbillon Galaxy,” modeled after the Whirlpool Galaxy (located 31 million light-years from Earth). This swirling galaxy shape fits perfectly with the tourbillon movement, a special mechanism that improves timekeeping accuracy and adds a touch of elegance.
The watch is packed with tiny details. There’s a rocket drawing on the glass with the phrase “We Come in Peace”, a laser-engraved spider at 10 o’clock, and three tiny golden nebulas at 9 o’clock. Between 10 and 11 o’clock, there's a spiral piece that looks like a black hole, symbolizing the mysteries of space and time. On the back, a checkerboard spiral on the sapphire glass gives the feeling of being pulled into the galaxy.
The 42mm case is made of titanium and 18k pink gold, giving it a modern and futuristic look. Inside, the watch is powered by the RD515 movement, known for its fine craftsmanship and 72-hour power reserve. It also meets the Poinçon de Genève quality mark, proving every piece was hand-finished with great care.
Dr. Woo said this watch is about curiosity and exploration, going beyond imagination. He enjoyed working with the Roger Dubuis team again to bring their cosmic vision to life.
Only 28 pieces of this watch will be made, and they will be available exclusively at Roger Dubuis boutiques.
