Gordon Murray Special Vehicles Reveals S1 LM at Monterey Car Week

Gordon Murray Special Vehicles (GMSV) has introduced its first special commission, the S1 LM, at Monterey Car Week 2025. Only five cars will be made, each serving as a modern tribute to the legendary McLaren F1 GTR that won the 1995 Le Mans race.

The S1 LM is designed with a lowered roofline and a full carbon-fiber body, inspired by Le Mans racing aerodynamics. It comes with a front splitter, a rear diffuser, and a dual rear wing for maximum performance. Under the hood is a 4.3-liter V12 engine producing over 690 hp, capable of revving up to 12,100 rpm. The car uses a manual gearbox from the T.50s supercar and a unique Inconel exhaust with 18-karat gold heat shielding, giving it a raw and race-inspired sound.

Inside, the car follows a minimalist approach with a central driving seat, lightweight materials, and simple controls. The focus is on pure driving connection, with suspension tuning and a solid-mounted engine designed to give drivers a true race-car experience.

Professor Gordon Murray called the S1 LM “timeless and beautiful,” emphasizing balance and proportion instead of flashy designs. Built by GMSV’s Bespoke division, all five examples have already been sold, with deliveries planned for 2026.
