Luxury fragrance house Acqua di Parma has launched its latest perfume, “Gelsomino a Freddo,” as part of its Signatures of the Sun collection. This new scent is crafted using a rare and ancient method called cold enfleurage.
In this process, freshly picked jasmine flowers are gently placed on purified shea butter in 48-hour cycles, allowing every natural aroma molecule to be captured without heat. The result is a pure and delicate jasmine essence that feels both traditional and modern.
The fragrance starts with fresh and zesty top notes of Italian lemon, pink pepper, and artemisia. At its heart lies the cold-pressed jasmine, blended with smoky black tea and elegant orris concrete. Finally, a warm base of guaiac wood, cypriol, and patchouli brings depth and balance, creating a scent that feels floral yet woody — perfectly gender-neutral.
Perfumer Daphne Bugey explained that the challenge was not only to preserve the purity of jasmine but also to balance the bright floral notes with the deeper woody ones, making this a fragrance that stands out with contrast and harmony.
Presented in Acqua di Parma’s refreshed Signatures of the Sun bottle, the design is transparent with an updated hatbox and modern label. To complement the fragrance, Acqua di Parma is also introducing new rituals in the collection, including Zafferano hand and body wash, body cream, candles, and a diffuser.
