2026 Jeep Cherokee Debuts With Hybrid Power and 500-Mile Range

Jeep has revealed the all-new 2026 Cherokee, a midsize SUV that mixes classic Jeep toughness with modern technology and efficiency. The debut took place in Brooklyn, New York, and even featured a performance by LL COOL J.

The big news is under the hood: the Cherokee introduces Stellantis’ first 1.6L turbo-four hybrid system in North America. This setup produces 210 horsepower, 230 lb-ft of torque, and achieves an estimated 37 mpg combined. With a driving range of over 500 miles, it’s one of the most fuel-efficient SUVs in its class.

Jeep has also improved practicality. The 2026 Cherokee offers 30% more cargo space, best-in-class towing, and a high-tech cabin. Inside, every model comes with a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, Uconnect 5, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus over 140 standard safety features, including Active Driving Assist.

The exterior takes inspiration from the classic Cherokee’s boxy shape, now with a taller stance and squared LED headlights. Inside, Jeep focuses on sustainability by using recycled materials and offering non-leather seating options.

The 2026 Jeep Cherokee starts at $36,995 USD and will arrive at dealerships in late 2025. Customers will be able to choose from trims like Laredo, Limited, and Overland, each offering more features and capability.
