Fashion designer Willy Chavarria has teamed up with adidas to give a stylish makeover to an old-school basketball sneaker — the Jabbar Low, first released in 1978 and made famous by NBA legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
Now called the Jabbar Dress Lo, this sneaker mixes sports and style by blending the look of a dress shoe with the comfort of a classic basketball design. The updated shoe was first seen during Willy Chavarria’s Fall/Winter 2025 show in Paris and is now set to launch officially.
The shoe comes in two clean color options: black and off-white. It keeps the shape of the original sneaker but with a slimmer front and sleeker midsole to give it a more elegant feel. The upper part is made of smooth leather with a touch of suede at the toe for added class.
There are a few small details that nod to both Willy Chavarria and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, such as gold text on the sides and a special adidas x Willy logo on the tongue. The design is simple, without loud branding, making it perfect for both casual and dressy outfits.
