The Nike Kobe 9 Elite Protro “What The” is officially coming back this month. The bold and colorful sneaker will drop on May 21, 2025, through Nike SNKRS and select retailers for $240 USD.
This version of the Kobe 9 first came out in 2015, and now it’s returning for its 10th anniversary. Just like the original, the shoe combines elements from many different Kobe 9 colorways, giving it a multicolored, mismatched look that fans call the “What The” style.
The sneaker comes in White, Reflective Silver, Chlorine Blue, and Black — and features different patterns, prints, and textures on each shoe. It also has a high-top design, Flyknit upper, and a full-length Zoom Air unit for comfort and performance, just like the OG model.
Nike has confirmed that the new release will stay true to the 2015 version, with no major changes. So, fans of the original can expect the same wild, creative design they loved back then.
If you're a Kobe fan or sneaker collector, mark your calendar for May 21. The Kobe 9 Elite Protro “What The” is sure to be one of the most talked-about drops of the season.
