Japanese fashion brand AURALEE has teamed up with New Balance once again — this time for a special edition of the New Balance 475 sneaker. First shown at Paris Fashion Week last year, the shoes are finally dropping on May 16 in two soft, vintage-inspired colors: Vintage Yellow and Vintage Grey.
The AURALEE x New Balance 475 brings back a classic New Balance model from the 1980s, keeping its old-school feel while adding modern design touches. The shoes are made from premium suede and mesh, giving them a faded, sun-washed look, almost like a perfectly aged pair of vintage sneakers.
Both versions come with a comfy dual-density EVA midsole for extra cushioning and a grippy outsole for better support. The Vintage Grey pair blends earthy greys and browns, while the Vintage Yellow version features soft green tones, creating a subtle but eye-catching colorway.
Designer Ryota Iwai, founder of AURALEE, explained the vision behind the shoes: he wanted them to feel like something you could have found years ago in a store — or maybe years into the future. His goal was to balance the vintage look with modern color design, tying it into the peaceful vibe of a quiet park setting, just like his clothing collection.
The AURALEE x New Balance 475 will be available starting May 16 at AURALEE, New Balance, and select stores worldwide. Each pair is priced at ¥26,400 JPY (around $182 USD). If you love vintage-style sneakers with a clean, minimal look, this drop is one to watch.
