Lamborghini and the Italian State Police are marking 20 years of working together, a partnership that began in 2004 with the delivery of a Lamborghini Gallardo. Over the years, Lamborghini has provided six high-performance vehicles to the police force, helping with high-speed patrols, emergency medical transports, and public safety initiatives.
The collaboration started with the Gallardo 510-4, equipped with a 5L V10 engine. This vehicle was used for patrols and critical medical missions, featuring specialized equipment like refrigerated compartments for organ transport and onboard defibrillators.
Later, Lamborghini introduced the Gallardo LP 560-4, which improved on performance and safety features. In 2014, the Huracán LP 610-4 joined the fleet. With a 5.2L V10 engine and a top speed of 201 mph, it played a key role in medical emergencies, including a life-saving kidney transport in 2023.
Most recently, the Italian Police received the Urus Performante, a powerful SUV with a twin-turbo V8 engine delivering 656 hp. Beyond speed, the Urus is equipped with advanced tools like weapon storage, a defibrillator, and a refrigerated compartment for medical missions.
In 20 years, Lamborghini police vehicles have completed over 200 urgent organ transports and participated in 1,500 road safety events. Stephan Winkelmann, Lamborghini’s CEO, expressed pride in the collaboration, saying, “Knowing that our vehicles have supported the police and contributed to saving lives is greatly gratifying. This partnership reflects the strong bond between Lamborghini and Italy’s institutions.”
This milestone celebrates not only Lamborghini’s engineering excellence but also its contribution to public safety and the well-being of Italian citizens.
