Genesis Unveils Exclusive GV80 "Desert Edition" for Racing Legend Jacky Ickx

 

Genesis has revealed the GV80 "Desert Edition," a one-of-a-kind off-road SUV built specially for Jacky Ickx, the motorsport icon known for his 1983 Paris–Dakar Rally victory. This unique creation combines rugged performance with Genesis’s signature luxury, paying tribute to Ickx’s adventurous racing career.

The GV80 Desert Edition is designed to handle tough desert terrains with ease. It features an elevated ride height, robust all-terrain tires, and dark custom wheels. The vehicle’s bold look is further enhanced by wide fender flares, a silver skid plate, red tow hooks, and bright yellow fog lights. For added visibility, the SUV includes pod lights on the hood and a roof-mounted light bar. A rooftop carrier provides space for rally essentials.

Under the hood, the SUV is powered by a 3.5L twin-turbo V6 engine, delivering plenty of strength for off-road adventures. As a special touch, Jacky Ickx has personally signed and illustrated the engine bay cover, making this vehicle a true collector’s piece.
