S.R. Studio LA CA and Vans are teaming up once again! After their successful first collaboration earlier this year, Sterling Ruby’s art-focused brand is back with a new collection alongside the iconic Californian sneaker label. This time, the collaboration showcases classic Vans silhouettes with a creative twist.
What’s in the Collection?
The new collection steps away from the custom “Clash The Wall” model introduced in the earlier drop. Instead, it reimagines Vans staples like the Old Skool 36, Sk8-Hi 38, and Slip-On 98. The designs play with bold colors and patterns inspired by Sterling Ruby’s artwork.
Highlights of the Collection:
- Industrial Look: One Sk8-Hi and an Old Skool feature dark green and gold tones, inspired by Ruby’s “ABSOLUTE CONTEMPT FOR TOTAL SERENITY” sculpture series. The Old Skool also has text detailing on the midsole.
- Playful Prints: The other Sk8-Hi and Slip-On embrace Ruby’s “Vampire Sunrise” logo in vibrant, tiled patterns, creating a more fun and dynamic vibe.
Apparel Addition
Alongside the footwear, the collection includes co-branded apparel like hoodies, long-sleeve shirts, and tees. The designs prominently feature pumpkins, a motif Ruby has long been fascinated with, adding a quirky touch to the lineup.
Release Details
The S.R. Studio LA CA x Vans OTW collection drops on December 5th through the Vans OTW website. Pricing details haven’t been announced yet, so stay tuned if you’re looking to grab a pair or some of the unique apparel.
