Just in time for Halloween, Spinnaker teams up once again with Paris-based artist Romaric André, also known as /seconde/seconde/, to release their third collaboration — the “Fifty Phantoms” watch. This 2025 edition continues the playful ghost-inspired theme that started in 2023, blending spooky creativity with top-tier watchmaking craftsmanship.
This latest release marks an exciting step for the series — for the first time, collectors can choose between two case sizes: the Phantom Steel (40mm) and the Phantom White (43mm). The smaller version runs on the Japan Automatic M-MIY-9015-D3 movement and has a thickness of 12.9mm, while the larger variant houses the M-SII-NH35-D3 movement and measures 13.9mm thick. Both feature anti-reflective sapphire lenses and a brand-new sunray-brushed bezel that mimics the waves of a ghost’s floating sheet.
The watch’s dial captures the brand’s signature humor and ghostly theme. The spectral gray dial glows with dozens of tiny luminous ghosts that appear in the dark. The bezel’s wavy, fluid design, along with luminous markers and numbers, adds to the eerie charm. From bezel to bracelet, the full-steel build makes the watch feel premium and cohesive, while still maintaining its hauntingly playful tone.
Spinnaker didn’t stop at looks — there are small surprises throughout. The included white nylon strap glows under UV light, adding a fun twist to the experience. Through the transparent caseback, you can see the engraved rotor, featuring 50 tally marks and a pair of eyes — a direct nod to its name, “Fifty Phantoms.” The rotor even moves like a playful ghost, covering and revealing the movement as it spins.
Both versions of the watch are water-resistant up to 15 ATM, making them reliable for daily wear. The upgraded bead-of-rice steel bracelet enhances comfort and gives a retro look, while the added nylon strap provides versatility for casual styling.
When worn, the 40mm version offers a balanced fit for most wrists, while the 43mm model delivers a bolder, more modern appearance. Despite its larger case, the Phantom Steel feels surprisingly comfortable — the steel bracelet gives it a smoother fit than the earlier rubber-strap models from the same series.
The Phantom Steel (40mm) is priced at $525 USD, and the Phantom White (43mm) comes in at $475 USD. The first pre-order batch sold out quickly, but a second wave will be announced soon. For updates, keep an eye on Spinnaker’s official Instagram or website.
