Nike Sues CLOT Founder Edison Chen Over Unpaid Debt

Nike vs. Edison Chen & Juice Los Angeles

Nike has filed a lawsuit against CLOT founder Edison Chen, claiming he and his company Juice Los Angeles owe the brand $126,615.68 USD. The case originally made headlines when court records mistakenly showed the amount as over $126 million, but the figure has since been corrected.

According to Nike, the money is for “goods and services” the company provided to Juice. The legal filing names both Chen and Juice Los Angeles as defendants, accusing them of breaching their contract with the Swoosh.

This lawsuit comes more than a year after Chen ended his long-running collaboration with Nike and began working with adidas. Since then, he has helped create sneakers like the CLOT Silk Gazelle and the CLOT Anthony Edwards AE-1.

Chen first partnered with Nike in 2006, producing many sought-after designs that blended streetwear style with Eastern cultural influences. While CLOT remains highly popular in Asia, the brand has gained global attention through major footwear collaborations.

Nike’s move to take Chen to court follows a series of legal actions from the brand, including a recent settlement with custom sneaker designer Shoe Surgeon. More details on Chen’s case are expected in the coming weeks.
