Introducing the Nike Kobe 3 Protro “Halo”

Nike Basketball is bringing back another classic Kobe Bryant sneaker — the Nike Kobe 3 Protro. The updated design arrives as part of the annual all-white “Halo” series, which celebrates Kobe’s birthday (August 23) and Kobe Day (August 24).

First released in 2008, the Kobe 3 was known for its bold net-like upper inspired by basketball nets. For the Protro version, Nike has kept the original look but added modern upgrades for today’s game. The shoe now features mesh backing for better airflow and support, plus a redesigned upper with diamond patterns honoring Kobe’s daughter, Natalia Diamanté Bryant.

Underfoot, performance takes a big step forward. Instead of the old Air Zoom setup, the Kobe 3 Protro comes with a full-length Zoom Strobel unit, combined with Cushlon 3.0 foam for softer cushioning and improved responsiveness. An updated traction pattern ensures players get better grip on the court.

This special “Halo” edition comes in a clean, all-white colorway, joining the Kobe 8 and Kobe 9 Elite Protros in Nike’s ongoing tribute series.

The Nike Kobe 3 Protro “Halo” will release on August 23, 2025, through Nike SNKRS and select retailers, priced at $210 USD.
