Ford has revealed the Mustang GTD Liquid Carbon, a stunning new version of its most extreme Mustang. Unlike traditional models, this car has no paint — instead, it proudly shows off its exposed carbon fiber body, making it both lighter and more aggressive in design.
The Liquid Carbon model was unveiled at the famous Laguna Seca Raceway. Its design is inspired by the Mustang GT3 race car, and by removing paint and replacing the door sheet metal with bonded carbon fiber, the car sheds around 13 pounds compared to the Carbon Series with the Performance package.
Chief Program Engineer Greg Goodall described the model as “the ultimate expression of the Mustang GTD’s high-tech, high-performance construction.”
On the outside, the carbon fiber weave patterns are perfectly aligned across the hood, roof, rear wing, and deck, giving it a seamless look. Black Brembo brakes and gloss-black GTD badging complete its bold and aggressive styling.
Inside, the cabin is just as special, with black leather, Dinamica suede, and bright Hyper Lime stitching. The seats feature a unique reflective gradient pattern that gives the car a modern and race-ready vibe.
Design Manager Anthony Colard summed it up best: “This is about high performance requiring high precision.”
Deliveries of the Mustang GTD Liquid Carbon will begin in October, joining the Spirit of America, Carbon Series, and standard GTD models. Each version gives customers a unique level of exposed carbon fiber and performance flair.
