NBA superstar Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has had an amazing season, leading the Oklahoma City Thunder to the best record in the league at 68-14. Many believe he could win the MVP award this year, thanks to his strong performance throughout the season.
As the NBA Playoffs kicked off, Shai made headlines again — not just for basketball, but for his sneakers. In Game 1 against the Memphis Grizzlies, which ended with a huge 51-point win for the Thunder, Shai debuted a brand-new colorway of his upcoming signature shoe: the Converse SHAI 001 “Ares Gray.”
The sneaker is named after Shai’s young son, Ares, who was born less than a year ago. The design features a smooth gray upper with a puffed look and a unique shroud system, giving the shoe a sleek, modern vibe both on and off the court.
Right now, Converse hasn’t announced an official release date for the “Ares Gray” SHAI 001, but it's expected to drop this fall at a price of $130 USD through Converse and selected stores.
Fans of SGA and sneaker lovers alike should keep an eye out — this signature shoe is shaping up to be something special!
