Rare Bentley Continental "Flying Star" Shooting Brake Up for Auction

 

A rare Bentley Continental “Flying Star” shooting brake, one of only 19 examples crafted by the renowned Italian coachbuilder Touring Superleggera, is heading to auction via RM Sotheby’s. This unique vehicle, combining bespoke design with powerful performance, has only 7,467 kilometers (4,640 miles) on the odometer, making it a highly sought-after collector's piece.

Built on the foundation of a Bentley Continental GTC convertible, the transformation was commissioned by The Curated Collection in 2008. The exterior boasts a sleek metallic grey finish, while the interior features luxurious Saffron leather with walnut veneer accents. Other high-end details include a two-tone steering wheel, contrast stitching, plush carpets, and front seats with lumbar massage functionality.

The custom modifications by Touring Superleggera, completed in 2009, included elongated doors, redesigned rear wings, and unique taillights to create the distinctive shooting brake silhouette. The conversion cost an additional $357,574 USD, reflecting the meticulous craftsmanship involved. Adding to its appeal, the car comes with a bespoke luggage set tailored to its design.

This “Flying Star” is further enhanced by refinements from Clark & Carter Restorations, blending heritage styling with modern engineering. The vehicle will be auctioned on February 4 during RM Sotheby’s Paris Sale, with estimates reaching up to $420,000 USD.
