The Air Jordan 3 “Lucky Shorts” is one of the highly anticipated releases for 2025. Expected to drop on February 22nd, the sneaker draws inspiration from a superstition that Michael Jordan carried throughout his career. Back in his college days, after leading the North Carolina Tar Heels to victory in 1982, MJ believed that the shorts he wore during that game were lucky. To honor this belief, he wore the same North Carolina practice shorts under his NBA uniform for his entire career.
The “Lucky Shorts” Jordan 3 brings this superstition to life with a design that nods to the colors of UNC, though not directly using the “University Blue” shade. Instead, the sneaker features “Hydrogen Blue” on the lower and upper eyelets and midsole, which complements the “Summit White” leather base. The “Photon Dust” suede around the collar, eyelets, and toe and heel overlays adds texture to the sneaker, while a “Sail” midsole and “Photon Dust” outsole finish off the look underfoot. The Jumpman logo on the heel is also in “Hydrogen Blue,” adding a nice touch of color.
Expected to retail for $200 in men’s sizing, the Air Jordan 3 “Lucky Shorts” is set to release in Summer 2025. Keep an eye out for more updates and images as we approach the release date.
